Bring on the Rain!

Tall Wellington Boot by Hunter

Picture from Hunter-boot.com

I finally took the plunge and bought myself some Hunter Rain Boots in Navy!!  This has been my favorite DC trend.  The boots are a bit pricey, but they should last forever.  I walk a couple blocks from my metro stop and on rainey days I get soaked.  I NEEDed some rain boots and it has taken me 6 months to decide if these were worth the price.  My husband had been against me buying them until yesterday!  We took my parents to the quaint English town of Middleburg, VA.  It is horse and wine country at it's best!  I have been in love with the town since my first visit a couple of years ago.  We ate lunch and were shopping in a local store that carried the boots.  They were $20 dollars cheaper than I had seen anywhere else and I was helping a local business owner, so M was sold on my purchase. ;o)  I have already been checking the weather for when it will rain again.  I never thought I would be excited for rain.  Now I have to find the perfect trench!

Do you own rainboots?  If so what do they look like?

Mica & Mari

My childhood best friend is getting MARRIED!!!!  Mica and I have a long and fun history together:  sister, one brian/brain, cheer leading, freshman college roomies, ADPI, back roads, my MOH, PMS (practically my sister), blow up backpacks, and I could go on for days.  I wish I had the yearbook from our Senior year.  It would bring me some good laughs looking at our page we did to each other. LOL  When I say we did everything together that is an understatement.  We thought we were so cool when we dressed "alike".  HAHA  You have to love growing up in a small town.  I am pleased to announce that she has finally found "the one".  Mica is so beautiful inside and out.  Brian brings nothing, but happiness to her and loves her as much as she does him.  She deserves it after the last two sorry "boys".  Brian and Mica have always had a connection, but the timing was never right until now.  Anytime I would run into Brian he would always ask about her and tell me that she was the only girl he would ever marry.  I am so happy to be your Matron of Honor!  Love you Mica Breeden soon to be Martin!!!!

Boston

BOSTON
Picture from OC Weekly Blog

Hillary's bachelorette party weekend was held in Boston which is where she grew up.  This was my first trip there and it will not be my last.  Boston is BEAUTIFUL!  I love boats, being on/around water, and history which makes Boston a great place for me.  One day hopefully sooner than later I will also go to Martha's Vineyard and Cape Cod aka "the Cape" (as Bostonians call it).  The theme of her party was "The Final Manhunt."  We all wore bright orange and camouflage to look like hunters.  I was probably the only one at the party that actually knew about hunting from my West TN roots.  Hillary's sister Anne hosted a lovely bridal shower at their childhood home Saturday afternoon.  We stayed at the Nine Zero hotel which was fabulous.  When we arrived at Hillary's suite the hotel had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne on ice for us.  The service was superb!  It was such a fun girls' trip and wish Hillary all the best as she is about to be Mrs. Offutt!

SIDE NOTE:
Hillary is marrying one of my husband's best friends from high school.  I was so thrilled when James introduced her to me a couple of years ago and knew she would be a life long friend.  Hillary is such a wonderful person and has brought me right into her amazing group of friends!  I Love you girl!
