Bring on the Rain!

Tall Wellington Boot by Hunter

Picture from Hunter-boot.com

I finally took the plunge and bought myself some Hunter Rain Boots in Navy!!  This has been my favorite DC trend.  The boots are a bit pricey, but they should last forever.  I walk a couple blocks from my metro stop and on rainey days I get soaked.  I NEEDed some rain boots and it has taken me 6 months to decide if these were worth the price.  My husband had been against me buying them until yesterday!  We took my parents to the quaint English town of Middleburg, VA.  It is horse and wine country at it's best!  I have been in love with the town since my first visit a couple of years ago.  We ate lunch and were shopping in a local store that carried the boots.  They were $20 dollars cheaper than I had seen anywhere else and I was helping a local business owner, so M was sold on my purchase. ;o)  I have already been checking the weather for when it will rain again.  I never thought I would be excited for rain.  Now I have to find the perfect trench!

Do you own rainboots?  If so what do they look like?

Hump Day Deal!

I have been trying to think of something I could do weekly that would benefit my readers.  I think I have come up with a good idea.  Every week I am going to post something I have either bought or come across that is fashionable and reasonably priced.  This will vary greatly as does my blog. LOL  I was reading some of the blogs I follow today and love the things they post, but majority of the time they are so expensive.  I am not sure what my style is, but I typically follow trends.  When I go shopping I look for pieces that are different and stand out.  My shopping style is picky.  I have never gone and spent several hundred dollars at once.  I buy pieces here and there.  I am not sure which style of shopping is better for the pocket book.  My first Hump Day Deal is this floral dress from Target and it is only $21.99.   If buying online Target frequently has opportunities for free shipping.   Hump Day Deal About two months ago I noticed that florals are totally in this spring/summer and then I came across this dress.  I loved it in the store in navy, but they did not have my size online or in the store.  I ended up buying this exact dress on the link.  I have had so many compliments and the fit is very flattering and cute.  I have dressed it up with heels, down with flip flops, and casual fun with cowboy boots.  It also comes in many different color patterns.  I hope you enjoy!

What is your shopping style?

RIP Alexander McQueen

The fashion world lost a great designer this past week.  Read the article here alexander-mcqueen  I loved to look at his designs even though most were not my style.  Fashion is an art and I love to watch it go in and out over the years.  Since the recession high end designers like McQueen have come out with lines in stores such as Target for us common folks.  Here is one of my favorite designs of his on SJP!  This is classy and bold!
