I cannot believe it has been two years!!!!!  Almost every minute has been so much fun and I can't help but think that is a good sign.

Nuclear Summit

Nuclear Summit =

The nuclear summit has begun here in the city.  47 nations have joined our President in hopes for ridding the world of nuclear weapons, a long-term process that Obama says should include gradual disarmament by the nuclear powers, stronger steps to head off a nuclear arms race and more urgent action to lock down tons of plutonium and highly enriched uranium.  All that being said this is what it means to me!

I walk by the Ritz-Carlton everyday on my way to work.  When fancy events go on in this city it seems important people like to stay at the Ritz.  I have no idea why?? J/K   Sooo about once a month I get my on body guards free of charge for about 4 blocks. How cool am I?!?!  Honestly today I wasn't even sure if they were going to let me walk by the Ritz, but then they recognized me. ;o) Maybe before it's over with I will get to see one of the fancy pants in person.

Could you live on a boat?

I know I mentioned before about how insane housing prices are in this area.  Before M and I moved here he mentioned to me about buying a large boat/yacht to live on.  My first thought was No, but now it is starting to seem like a good idea.  This is the only time in our life we would ever be able to do it.  We have to clear some debt before we will seriously begin to look into it.  You can now get boat loans for around 20 years.  The price range we would look at would make our payments a couple hundred dollars a month.  If we were to buy a home that would be a couple thousand a month.  If we sell our home and clear most of our debt we could live on the boat for a year and pay it off.  That would leave us with a fun toy and then we could go buy a house.  This is definitly something that would not happen for a year or two, but it is a possibility.  I LOVE the water and being on a boat.  I could totally move to and island or coastal town.  We have made friends here who have a 300sq ft apartment and a 40ft yacht.  If you havn't been to DC before the Potomac River runs around it and leads into the Chesapeake Bay and then into the Atlantic.  It will be good to see how our friends like it.  They have said there is a community of families who do this at their dock.  I can't imagine doing it with a big family, but what do I know.  So my question for you guys is..... Do you think you could live on a boat?  Here are some pictures of some possibilities:

Best of Washington Voting Party

My favorite new friend here Ms. Hillary Francis invited me to go with her to this invite only party hosted by "The Washingtonian."   That is the local magazine here that Washington lives by.  It is the region’s top source of information for dining, shopping, entertainment, and personalities.  Hillary plans weddings at "Union Station"  which is a beautiful venue.

It was pretty funny me being there because I would love to say I know it all here, but that is pretty impossible.  We mingled, tasted wonderful wines, and appetizers.  The press was there taking so many pictures of everyone.  One of the guys pointed out a lady from the DC housewives who was there.  Here is a very interesting wine from the party "Meditrina."   I knew M would like it because the wholesaler said it goes great with ANYTHING off the grill.  This wine is created from Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Zinfandel. YUM!  Thanks Hillary for such a fun evening in the big city!! XOXO

My parents ended up not coming this weekend, so I am going to enjoy my day off.  I have tons of errands I have been needing to do for a while now.  The weather here has been AMAZING which has given me lots of time to fix the flower beds at this house.  Since this is not our home I don't want to spend alot of money, so that has been my challenge with this jungle of flower beds.  I know nothing has been done to them in years.  I have always LOVED flowers and think I am beginning to have a green thumb.  The flowers all over this city are BEAUTIFUL!  Happy Weekend everyone!
